Hubert White, a menswear store, had been an institution in their same location for almost 90 years.  We were hired to design a new store for them in a new location.  From the first day of our work we knew that this would be a fixture heavy project and made the wise decision to select Principle as a partner in this project.  The team at Principle worked very closely with our staff in producing one of the finest looking and functioning men’s stores in the U.S.  This store has become a model for many others around the country and has provided Smart Associates numerous other projects nationwide.

 

Ampersand is a very high end houseware, gift and apothecary store located in one of the premier shopping centers in the country, the Galleria in Edina, Minnesota.  Again with the help of the team from Principle, we were able to design a store that is not only functional but also one that continues to draw attention and positive reviews.  The diverse areas of the store required numerous different styles of furniture and fixture design which added to the challenge as well as the fun.  Yes, I did say fun.  Working with professionals such as those at PFM makes our work that much more enjoyable as well as rewarding professionally.

 

Prior to starting Smart Associates, I was a partner at another firm and we were presented with the opportunity to design a new chain of retail stores to be called The Museum Company Stores.  As the partners sat around trying to figure out how we were going to accomplish this massive project, I suggested that we contact Craig Johnson, President of Principle Fixture and Millwork.  Craig showed up for a meeting that afternoon and by the next morning, we were well on our way to designing, what was to become, a large chain of beautiful stores.
